Alkor-D is an innovative European company whose activity is the growing of HPHT diamond single crystals, as well as selling, both raw materials and synthetic diamonds.

More than 30 professionals and scientific experts produce gem-quality products with the help of modern technological equipment, and following their own know-how.

CLASSIC AND FANTASY SHAPES OF DIAMONDS

exlusive production

Currently the production capabilities of the company Alkor-D is growing from 500 carats to 1500 carats per month. In future we are going to grow 10 000 carats per month.

The synthesis of diamonds is carried out in our own research laboratories using cubic Synthetic Diamond Hydraulic Presses.

Diamonds are cut in the factory which has 50-years old history and preserves thetraditions of cutting diamonds “Russian Cut”.

TECHNIQUE CONSISTS IN A GROWING OF DIAMOND

HPHT TECHNIQUE CONSISTS IN A GROWING OF DIAMOND SINGLE CRYSTALS UNDER HIGH TEMPERATURE AND HIGH PRESSURE

ABOUT 1500 ° C, WITH THE DESIRED GRADIENT AND ABOUT 50-70 THSD ATM.

Graphite powder is compressed into a small sheet. Small diamond seed of approximately 0.5 mm size is placed on it. When all elements of the future diamond are ready, they are placed in a special cell, which is able to withstand tremendous pressure and temperature in the following order: seed crystal on the bottom, metal alloy (catalyst) and a carbon source in the form of pressed graphite. Then the growth cell is placed to a special laboratory equipment (hydraulic press of high-pressure) where the chemical processes occur. Metal is melted, the graphite is dissolved in the metal and deposited on the seed diamond, which builds new crystalline bonds.

This process allowing to grow a synthetic diamond and can last from 4 to 10 days. Furthermore, it can make a large-sized synthetic diamond.

THE ETCHING PROCESS

THE ETCHING PROCESS

The process of etching is an extraction of monocrystals from metal, which was formed during the synthesis.
Growing cells filled with synthesis product are poured with (1,0 ±10) L. of nitric acid and then boiled during (40±5) minutes until complete melting of metal. Thereafter, the container is left to cool.

After cooling, containers are filled with water (1,20±0,10) L. and are leaving until 10-15 minutes. Then washing liquid is carefully poured into a separate container to avoid of roiling of precipitate.
Monocrystals that stood out, are gently pulled out from the growing cells.

The remaining precipitate is transferred to a container and the cycle of etching is repeating all over again to complete the extraction process of crystals from the synthesis product.

Classical diamond

Alkor-D cooperates with one of the most powerful diamond cutting enterprises in Ukraine, which was founded in 1969 and in Soviet times it was part of the Crystal system.

Long experience of the partner plant and modern production facilities allow to obtain the highest quality of cut diamonds.

modern technological equipment

The cut of a diamond is carried out with the help of modern technological equipment:

equipment - analyzer of diamond rough and finished products;

OGI Marker Pique - a modern computer marking system;

ABM CUT, ABM Coning - automatic roughing machine;

Sarine Qazar - laser equipment for cutting diamonds;

Sarine Dioscan S9 - scanning system for diamond grading;

Dia Mension HD - system for the evaluation of the diamond high resolution;

Polished Diamonds Cleaner machine (Ice stones LTD) - acid-free cleaning system.

external quality control

Each lab-created diamond passes multilevel system of internal and external quality control

The internal quality assessment is carried out by certified specialists who are following the world’s standards laboratories such as GIA and IGI. Using the latest technology and equipment, gemologists evaluate the quality characteristics of diamonds, which are based on a specially developed technical specifications in accordance with international quality standards.
